Knowledge Credit®
You bring valuable knowledge and experience to your education, and you should get credit for every step you’ve taken so far. You can save time and money with Knowledge Credit® in three ways:
- Transfer in college-level credit with our generous transfer credit policy; on average, you can get a review in one business day.
- Take $149 self-directed assessments to show that you don’t need to take a specific course.
- Receive credit for military training or professional certifications that align with your program.
Most programs allow up to 67% of program requirements to be fulfilled with Knowledge Credit®.2

We respect the learning you bring to the classroom. Rasmussen University’s Associate’s degree students transfer an average of 24 credits and Bachelor’s degree students transfer an average of 81 credits thanks to our generous transfer policies.3 ,4
Accepted and Pending Transfer Credits
Courses which have been accepted for transfer will be listed on your transcript with a Transfer (TR) designation. Transfer credits which have been conditionally accepted, pending the receipt of an official transcript, will be listed with a Pending Transfer (PT) designation.

Do you have potential transfer credits, but don’t know if they will be accepted? At Rasmussen University, you can get an estimate of your transfer credits without an official transcript. Simply reach out to an admissions advisor with your transcripts or grade documents which include your first and last name and get transfer credit reviews completed in one business day (on average).
How to Send Your Official Transcript to Rasmussen
Request Your Official Transcript
To complete your transfer credit process, you must request that your official transcripts be sent directly to Rasmussen University. You will receive email notifications alerting you when your transcripts are received and credits post to your account.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all official transcripts have been received by Rasmussen University. Additional evaluations may apply.

Self-Directed Assessments
These $149 online assessments are a way to show that you have already achieved the skills and knowledge for a particular course and don’t need to take it. Self-directed assessments are available in 56 of our programs, and your admissions advisor can tell you how many assessments are available for the program you are interested in. We also offer prep materials, and you can work with a peer tutor to help you brush up—at no added cost.
