Growing up, Tiffany had several amazing and influential teachers who brought learning to life for her and encouraged her to become a teacher. She was inspired by the endless possibilities teachers offer students.
“What interested me the most about the education field was that teachers make it possible for all other careers to exist,” says Tiffany. “Without a teacher serving as a guide and facilitator of learning, how would doctors, lawyers, architects, or business professionals know what they need to do to do their jobs?”
Tiffany’s dedication and hard work as a student and teacher have recently been recognized by the Golden Apple Award Program in Rockford. Tiffany is one of five Golden Apple Teacher award recipients this year who are recognized for making a difference in their communities through their commitment to educational excellence.
Tiffany was surprised in her classroom by Golden Apple Foundation staff, board members and sponsors, her principal and district superintendent, family and media representatives.
“I feel so honored to have been given this award,” said Tiffany. “I feel as though all my years in school and hard work in the classroom have paid off. This award means so much to me, and I look forward to continuing to educate and inspire students.”
Tiffany was chosen from 20 outstanding finalists in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade representing public and non-public school districts of Winnebago and Boone Counties. Since November 2019, the 20 finalists participated in a rigorous selection process, including classroom observations and interviews conducted by trained Golden Apple community volunteers.
The newest Golden Apple teachers will be celebrated at the 24th Annual Golden Apple Foundation banquet with a red-carpet arrival in August. The Rasmussen College community congratulates Tiffany on this prestigious accomplishment.
